A local-first memory engine that runs entirely on your Mac. Self-hosted, signed, and ready in two minutes.
Built in Rust, Esment runs entirely on-device — sub-20ms recall, no cloud round-trip, nothing leaves your Mac.

Connect Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, and Perplexity to the same local memory over MCP — recall follows you across every assistant you use.

Two steps between the download and a running memory layer.
First launch: right-click Esment in Applications and choose Open — the app isn't notarized yet, so Gatekeeper needs a one-time override.
On first launch the menubar icon appears and Esment asks for a license to activate.
Without a valid license_id the app stays in lockout mode and refuses to start gated features.
The desktop runs the license check against the license-server every six hours. Without a current license you can install the app, but the API never starts and gated features stay off.
