Questions

What does the plugin install?

Memory tools for your assistant — search, save, recall. In Codex and Cursor it also installs automatic memory: context enters your conversation on every turn, no tool call required.

Where does my API key go?

In the assistant's own connection settings, once. The plugin package never contains secrets.

Local or cloud — which should I pick?

The app runs everything on your Mac and needs no key. The cloud plugin is for when you want memory tools without installing the app — your memory lives in your Esment account.

Is my memory shared between assistants?

That is the point. Every assistant you connect reads and writes the same Esment memory, local or cloud.
