Perplexity, Poke & others
Any assistant that supports MCP connectors can use Esment. Here are the common ones.
Perplexity
Custom connectors are available on Perplexity’s Pro and Max plans.
- 1In Esment, open Assistants, click the Perplexity card and turn the tunnel on. Copy the address.
- 2Click Copy admin token.
- 3In Perplexity, open Settings → Connectors and add a custom connector. Paste the address.
- 4Under Advanced, choose API key and paste the token. Use Streamable HTTP if asked for a transport.
Perplexity does not receive Esment’s instructions automatically. Teach it once with Teach your assistants.
Poke
Poke is an assistant you talk to in iMessage. Esment can teach it to use your memory: in Teach your assistants, click Copy note next to Poke and send the note to Poke in iMessage.
How to add Esment as an MCP integration inside Poke itself is not documented here yet.
Any MCP client
Most clients ask for the same pieces: a server address, how to sign in, and sometimes a transport.
- Address: your memory endpoint, ending in /mcp. It must be public and start with https:// for web assistants.
- Sign-in: OAuth if the client offers it, otherwise an API key sent as Authorization: Bearer followed by the key.
- Transport: Streamable HTTP.
Generic MCP config
{
"mcpServers": {
"esment": {
"url": "<your memory address>/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <access key>" }
}
}
}Good to know
On the Mac, the Any MCP client card on Assistants shows this snippet filled in. Keep your access key private.
