Mac, web, or both
There are two ways to use Esment. Most people start with one and add the other later — they share the same memory.
Side by side
The Mac app
- Where your memory lives: on your Mac.
- Account: not needed to run it, only a license, which comes with any paid plan. Signing in is optional, to sync with the web.
- Assistants: desktop apps such as Claude Desktop and Cursor, connected in one click, and web assistants through a link.
- Only here: Quick Capture and voice recording from anywhere on your Mac with a keyboard shortcut, and sharing your Mac with teammates on Teams and Enterprise plans.
Esment on the web
- Where your memory lives: hosted for you, reachable from any browser.
- Account: yes. The Free plan costs nothing and needs no card.
- Assistants: web assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, through one link.
- Only here: nothing to install, use from any device, and invitations to workspaces by email.
The Mac app — the full experience
A native app for your Mac. Your memory is stored privately on your computer, and every assistant you use on that Mac shares it. It is the most private and most capable option.
Pick the app if you want
- Everything to stay on your own machine, with no account required to use it.
- The full toolbox — memory blocks, voice notes, history, Quick Capture and fine control.
- To connect desktop apps like Claude and Cursor with a single click.
Esment on the web — nothing to install
Your memory, hosted for you. There’s nothing to install and it works from any device or browser — a great fit if you mostly use web assistants like ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity.
Pick the web if you want
- To skip installing anything and start in a couple of clicks.
- Your memory to follow you across computers, phones and browsers.
- A single link that connects any web assistant to your memory.
Using both
Sign in to the Mac app with your Esment account and it keeps your Mac and the web in sync, in both directions. Memories you save on one side appear on the other, and nothing is overwritten.
For companies
Need your team’s memory on your own servers? Esment Enterprise runs the same memory inside your network, with team workspaces and access control.
