Give your AI a memory

Esment gives Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Perplexity, Grok and other assistants one shared, lasting memory — so what you tell one of them, all of them remember.

Your AI assistants forget everything the moment a chat ends. Every new conversation starts from zero — you re-explain who you are, what you’re working on, and how you like things done.

This guide walks you through everything, step by step, with no technical background assumed. If you can install an app and copy a link, you can set up Esment.

The memory problem

AI assistants are brilliant at answering questions, but they were built to be stateless: they read your message, answer, and when the conversation closes the context is gone. Tomorrow you start from scratch again.

Esment is the layer that was missing: a private, searchable store of what your assistants need to know about you, handed back to them when it’s relevant — before you even finish typing.

What it does

Esment quietly remembers the things worth keeping and gives them back to your assistant when they matter. You don’t manage any of it by hand: talk to your assistant as you normally would, and review, edit or delete anything at any time.

See it for yourselfYour first memory
Connect one assistant, tell it something, and ask about it in a brand-new chat. It takes five minutes.

What gets remembered

Who you are

Your name, your role, how you like to work and communicate.

Your projects

What you’re building, who’s involved, the decisions made and what’s still open.

Your preferences

The tools, styles and choices you keep coming back to — “I prefer short answers”, “I always use Python”.

The important history

Past choices future chats should know about: “we picked Postgres”, “the client wants weekly summaries”.

Good to know
Not everything you say becomes a memory. Small talk and thinking aloud are left out; your assistant keeps the facts, preferences and decisions that are worth keeping.

Your data stays yours

  • With the Mac app, your memory lives on your own computer. No account is needed to use it, and search runs offline.
  • On the web, your memory is hosted for you so it works from any device and browser, and you can export it whenever you like.
  • Either way, you can view, edit, export or erase your memory at any time. Nothing is hidden.
